Common questions
Which ceiling layout is Ultra designed for?

When is the heat pump most useful?
It adds efficient warmth in mild weather; use a properly sized furnace in freezing conditions.
Can it run from an inverter?

Quiet comfort for every season
InstaCool Ultra combines 16,000 BTU cooling, 12,500 BTU heat-pump heating, 418 CFM airflow and low-mode sound below 43 dB. It is built for non-ducted RV owners who value quiet nights as much as daytime cooling.

Cool fast without dominating the cabin
The compressor, separate airflow motors and control options are designed around the parts of rooftop climate control you feel every day.

Recover the cabin after a hot drive
The 16K platform adds useful cooling capacity when the RV roof and interior have absorbed hours of summer heat.

Move conditioned air beyond the ceiling
Three impellers help deliver cooled or heated air into the occupied cabin instead of concentrating it around the ADB.

Protect sleep with a quieter low mode
Low mode is designed for overnight and maintenance cooling, with installed sound shaped by the RV and mounting.

Control comfort from four interfaces
Change temperature, mode and timing without relying on a single control point.
Choose Ultra for quiet non-ducted comfort
Ultra is the best fit for owners who want cooling, useful heat-pump warmth and a lower overnight sound target.
The included ceiling system delivers air directly from the ADB rather than through existing ducts.
The heat pump adds warmth in mild cold, while a furnace remains the right tool for freezing weather.
Pro adds maximum cooling-only output; Pro Max adds 18K cooling, 16K heat and ducted compatibility.
Standard non-ducted rooftop compatibility
A 14.25 × 14.25-inch opening, compatible roof thickness and non-ducted ceiling assembly support installation.

Designed for a standard non-ducted rooftop opening.
The 14.25-inch cutout, 1.2–5-inch roof range and included non-ducted ceiling assembly cover the key replacement dimensions.

Great customer service. Replaced
"Great customer service. Replaced an old domestic brisk air AC in our coachmen class C RV. Pretty much plug and play since unit did not require a 12vdc run for a thermostat. Controlled by a remote and push button display on internal unit. Most units require 12v dc so make sure you have that available or can run it. So far all is good. Nice and quiet and plenty of output for our 24ft rig."
very nice unit
"Assembled very easy. Removed a ducted command unit and replaced with this non ducted. Only issue is had was the light does not work. To early to give a unit preference yes, as only have installed 1 day but it did do good for the test run."
Easy install and perfect
"Easy install and perfect fit. Replaced an old 13. 5k byu domestic with 120 AC input. There was no need for 12v DC to run this unit since it came with a remote and push button controls on inside unit. Very quiet too. Great customer service from Foghatti!!!!"
I m happy
"I m happy with the oerformance of the unit. However; the air distribution box does hang down a few inches from the ceiling in my 1970 s Airstream and interfered with the bulkhead that separates the bedroom from the front of the trailer. This will not be an issue on newer Airstreams but it required the installers to fasten the roof unit with the air box attached. They finally were able to everything bolted down and there is only 1/8 inch clearance from the air distribution box and the bulkhead. The unit blows cold and is quiet. It does deliver air to the front and rear end caps of the trailer."

Our original unit installed
"Our original unit installed on our 2015 hideout died. I chose this unit and shipping was fast. Install was simple and straight forward. Our summer temps reach triple digits. With this new unit it maintains 74 inside the trailer without trying. It s super quiet inside and out. Super impressed."
Just installed this unit
"Just installed this unit on our Airstream Interstate to replace the original Carrier V unit. What a difference. More cooling capacity, substantially quieter, remote control and heat pump as a bonus. We couldn t be happier with this unit. Looked at several others, really glad we picked this one. Installation is fairly simple and straight forward. More difficult to remove the old unit than install the new one."
